Commerce Resources Announces Tantalum-Niobium Results from Drilling at Upper Fir and Bone Creek

Commerce Resources Corp. (CCE – TSX Venture) (the “Company”) is pleased to provide the following update on exploration at its wholly owned Blue River area Tantalum Projects. The results of the 2005 exploration drilling at the Fir Property continue to demonstrate a large tonnage potential. The Upper Fir Carbonatite discovered in 2002 and located some 1,200m due east of the main Fir Carbonatite outcrops, was drilled for the first time.

Upper Fir and Bone Creek Property Drilling
During October, 2005 the company completed eight HQ sized core holes at the Fir Property, four in the Bone Creek Carbonatite and four in the Upper Fir Carbonatite. Carbonatite was intersected in five holes. The company is in receipt of preliminary analytical results, for tantalum, niobium and uranium; still awaits final results for rare earth elements:

As the 2005 holes were vertical and the carbonatites are near flat-lying, drill intersections represent approximately true thickness.

President Dave Hodge said, “These results are significant as they demonstrate the existence of another deposit with similar mineralogy and chemistry to that of the Fir Deposit. This discovery may represent a faulted extension to the Fir Carbonatite and therefore adds considerably to the exploration potential to the Blue River Tantalum/Niobium Project. The location of the Upper Fir Carbonatite is such that parts of it may be amenable to open pit mining. As part of the upcoming pre-feasibility study, the Company intends to collect a significant bulk sample from this new discovery.”

Samples were analyzed by X-Ray Fluorescence Methods at Teck-Cominco’s Global Discovery Labs in Vancouver, British Columbia. The analyses were done by fusion preparation, the preferred methodology. Quality control analyses will be done by ACME Analytical Laboratories. Whole rock analyses results will be released as they become available.

The grade and tenor of the mineralization within the 2005 Upper Fir holes is comparable to that previously encountered at the Fir Carbonatite. At the Upper Fir Carbonatite, mineralized intercepts varied from 8¾-17m, over a strike length of about 250m. The deposit remains open in all directions.

The grade and tenor of the mineralization within the 2005 Bone Creek holes is similar to that previously encountered by Anschutz Mining Corp during the early 1980s.

Based on the foregoing results, and historic work, the company anticipates additional exploration including drilling, trenching and bulk sampling, to further expand available tonnages at the Fir, Bone Creek and Upper Fir carbonatites.

Jody Dahrouge, professional geologist and director of Commerce, is responsible for the design and conduct of the exploration programs and the verification and quality assurance of analytical results.
