Commerce Resources Corp. Continues to Intersect Significant Widths at Upper Fir

Commerce Resources Corp. (TSXv: CCE) (FSE: D7H) (“the Company”) announces that the Company’s summer 2006 exploration program continues to expand the size of the Upper Fir Carbonatite. The ongoing drill program has intersected carbonatite over a north-south strike length exceeding 450 meters. Total thicknesses in the 11 holes completed during 2006, vary from 12.53 to 105.87 meters. Drilling is ongoing.

In addition, a program of trenching has been completed. All trenches are located within 150 meters to the west of the drilling; resulting in the discovery of several new exposures of carbonatite. Based on the exploration to date, the Upper Fir Carbonatite remains open to the north, east and south.

Prior intersections of carbonatite from the 2005 exploration program at the Upper Fir are as follows:

Hole Total Carbonatite (m) Ta2O5(g/t) Nb2O5(g/t)
CF0505 16.79 210.92 2094.99
CF0506 8.77 172.78 1967.56
CF0508 14.51 232.81 1449.99

The Upper Fir Carbonatite, located 1,200 meters east of the Fir Carbonatite, was discovered during an exploration program in 2002. Subsequent exploration included geologic mapping, sampling and a soil geochemistry survey.

Exploration to date has shown the Upper Fir to be similar in character to that observed at the main Fir Deposit. The 2006 drill program has been designed begin to determine the thickness and extent of the Upper Fir Carbonatite. Given the potential size of this system, the company is confident that the Upper Fir Carbonatite may be as significant a discovery as the Fir Carbonatite, which is located less than 1 km to the west. Information collected from the 2005 and 2006 exploration programs at the Upper Fir Carbonatite, will be used to generate a resource estimate for this carbonatite.

Jody Dahrouge, professional geologist and director of Commerce, is responsible for the design and conduct of the exploration programs, and the verification and quality assurance of analytical results. Mr. Dahrouge is a qualified person as defined under National Instrument 43-101.

About Commerce Resources Corp. (https://commerceresources.com)

Commerce Resources Corp. is focused on the development and exploration of its Fir and Verity tantalum and niobium projects covering 49 square kilometers in British Columbia, Canada. The Company is one of the most active tantalum explorers in North America, conducting detailed exploration of its Fir and Verity deposits. Exploration to date at the Fir deposit has outlined an indicated resource of 5.65Mt with 203.1g/t Ta2O5 and 1,047g/t Nb2O5 (Verzosa, 2003). The Fir is also host to an inferred resource of 6.7Mt with 203.1g/t Ta2O5 and 1,047g/t Nb2O5 (Verzosa, 2003). The Verity deposit, 10 km north of the Fir property, is host to an estimated inferred resource of 3.06Mt with 196g/t Ta2O5, 646g/t Nb2O5 and 3.20% P2O5 (McCrea, 2001). Detailed information on both resource estimates may be viewed in the company’s public disclosure on SEDAR.
