Commerce Resources Corp. (TSXv: CCE) (FSE: D7H) (“the Company”) is in receipt of analytical results for the first drill hole completed at the Upper Fir Carbonatite during the summer of 2006. In total, 17 drill holes were completed during 2006. The results from the remaining 16 holes will be released upon receipt.
These 17 holes are in addition to the 3 drilled in October 2005, at the Upper Fir Carbonatite (see news release of January 19, 2006).
Exploration to date has confirmed the presence of tantalum- and niobium-bearing carbonatite over a strike length exceeding 750m north-south and more than 200m in an east-west direction. Total thicknesses of carbonatite, within the 17 holes completed during 2006, vary from 12.53m to 105.87m. The carbonatite remains open to the east and south. The southern-most holes completed to date, intersected a single body of carbonatite, which varies from about 50m to 90m thick. The sill-like carbonatite, which dips gently to the south and east, is shown to outcrop over an extensive strike length and is available at surface.
Results from the Drill Hole CF-06-01, the first hole completed during 2006, are as follows:
-------------------------------------------------------------------------- CF-06-01 From(m) To(m) Thick.(m) Ta2O5(g/t) Nb2O5(g/t) -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Zone 1 57.65 82.19 24.54 238 1298 93.00 109.25 16.25 258 2511 115.62 144.95 29.33 190 1622 156.38 167.87 11.49 208 921 ------ ------ ----- --- --- Total(s) - - 81.61 220 1603 --------------------------------------------------------------------------
Additional results will be released as they become available. All samples were analyzed at Acme Analytical Laboratories Ltd. in Vancouver, British Columbia, using ICP-MS.
Jody Dahrouge, professional geologist and director of Commerce, is responsible for the design and conduct of the exploration programs, and the verification and quality assurance of analytical results. Mr. Dahrouge is a qualified person as defined under National Instrument 43-101.
About Commerce Resources Corp. (https://commerceresources.com)
Commerce Resources Corp. is focused on the development and exploration of its Fir and Verity tantalum and niobium projects covering 49 square kilometers in British Columbia, Canada. The Company is one of the most active tantalum explorers in North America, conducting detailed exploration of its Fir and Verity deposits. Exploration to date at the Fir deposit has outlined an indicated resource of 5.65Mt with 203.1g/t Ta2O5 and 1,047g/t Nb2O5 (Verzosa, 2003). The Fir is also host to an inferred resource of 6.7Mt with 203.1g/t Ta2O5 and 1,047g/t Nb2O5 (Verzosa, 2003). The Verity deposit, 10 km north of the Fir property, is host to an estimated inferred resource of 3.06Mt with 196g/t Ta2O5, 646g/t Nb2O5 and 3.20% P2O5 (McCrea, 2001). Detailed information on both resource estimates may be viewed in the company’s public disclosure on SEDAR.
